Six Months to Coeur d'Alene: Rest Day

The Goal

People set out to do Ironman for a lot of different reasons. I competed in IMCDA in 2008 because I'd been doing triathlons for six years and it just seemed like time. Check out the race report and some pictures on Whine Country. But if you just want to know how fast I am (or was), well, here's the data:

My goal in 2009 is to do better than that by at least 26 minutes and 8 seconds. What will it take to accomplish that goal? What sacrifices and accommodations will be made? Or not? And, anyway, what's so important about 11:59:59? All good questions.
